Work History

As a graduate of the Fiji School of Medicine with a Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography, Kanchan was awarded the Roentgen's Trophy for Best Student in the Final Radiography Viva. Further studies were completed at the University of Auckland in the form of a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences with a major in Medical Imaging. She has since worked as a Medical Imaging Technologist for 19 years primarily in Cardiology and Interventional Radiology. Before moving to New Zealand in 2008, she worked in Fiji as a General, Theatre, Mammography, Interventional and Ultrasound Imaging Technologist for 4 years.

Kanchan joined Intra in 2012, appointed as a Clinical Coordinator in 2022. She worked collaboratively with Team Leads and scheduling administrators to deliver the best health outcomes for all Intra patients.

Her most recent appointment is as Technical Charge in 2023 and leads the Intra Technical team as well as ensuring clinical systems and equipment are well maintained which influences the procedural outcome for patients entering the Intra. Having the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that fosters continuous improvement and innovation is something she enjoys.
