Work History

Bruce brings a wealth of experience to Intra and has worked in the cath lab environment as a radiographer for more than 38 years. He started at Greenlane Hospital in 1976, and within a few years he became Assistant Charge Radiographer, and was later promoted to Charge Radiographer.

Bruce's interest in research started in the mid 1980’s. In 1994 Bruce travelled to the Netherlands to complete a course on quantitative coronary angiography. In 2002 he gained a Masters of Health Science (Hons) through AUT.
In 2006 Brucw joined Intra and took on the role of Charge Radiographer and Research Coordinator. As Charge Radiographer, Bruce was instumental to the introduction of multi-skilling in the cath lab.

Bruce also oversees the radiation safety plan, which monitors safe radiation practices within Intra on an on-going basis.

In his role as Research Coordinator, Bruce assists Intra's Medical Director, Professor John Ormiston, in bench testing coronary stents. The result of this research has had worldwide effects on the design of coronary stents.
